Re Opening 2.0 !!
We will be Reopening the Plough from Wednesday 2nd December with Tier 2 restrictions listed below from the gov.uk website .
While these restrictions limit us severly to what would be normal trade for December we will endeavour to build on the positivity from the previous reopening and look forward to welcoming as many customers as possible within our covid secure procedures. We must stress that we are unable to cater for groups of more than 6 and that bookings are only for single households until at least the 16th of december when the tier system is reviewed again.
Our opening times will remain the same and we will keep the bar open during weekend afternoons with a reduced menu. Booking will be essential during the next month to avoid disappointment.

Face coverings will be required for all customers.
During your visit you will need to wear a mask on entering , while moving around inside and when you exit, all customers are only allowed to take off your face coverings when seated at your table. We can only have a maximum group of 6, we will not be able to accommodate larger parties on split tables.
We have printed QR codes at the entrances and we hope that all customers use the NHS Covid 19 app for track and trace on arrival , we will still be able to manually take details if you are unable to use the app.
The law now states that we have to serve customers at tables so we will not take orders or payments over the bar and instead direct all customers to their designated table and serve you from there.
With this in mind, and because of the reduced capacity , we would ask all customers to pre book a table to avoid being disappointed if we cannot accommodate you when we are full.
Closing times have also changed and the Plough must now be closed by 11pm each day,
so we will stop serving food from 9.00pm and last orders for the bar will be 10pm
We are a traditional village pub in Alvescot on the edge of the Cotswolds
serving excellent food & beers seven days a week in a welcoming and relaxed setting.
All of our beers come from Wadworth & Co in Devizes and we always stock their flagship beers
6X & IPA as well as Continental lagers, Guinness and a varied wine and gin menu.
Our talented head chef Ian Rogers is dedicated to using locally sourced produce which is in season and he has an exceptional talent for butchery. He only uses beef from Patrick Strainge butchers in Bampton and he dry ages the loins here for a minimum of 30 days producing exceptionally flavoured,
melt in the mouth steaks!
We look forward to seeing you here at
